Statement of Faith
At Sacred Sobriety: A Path for the Soul, our foundation is built on the unchanging truths of God’s Word. We believe that recovery and healing are not just physical or emotional processes but deeply spiritual journeys that require alignment with Biblical principles and reliance on God’s grace.
1. The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, full of love, mercy, and justice, and He desires a personal relationship with each of us (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
2. The Authority of Scripture
We affirm the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God, which provides guidance, truth, and the foundation for our lives. It is the ultimate authority for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
3. Salvation Through Christ Alone
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to redeem humanity through His life, death on the cross, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift of grace received by faith in Him, not by works, and it is through His power that we can experience freedom from sin and addiction (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23).
4. The Transforming Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, guiding, convicting, and empowering us to live a life that glorifies God. The Spirit renews our minds, transforms our hearts, and strengthens us in our recovery journey (John 14:26; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
5. The Call to Discipleship
We believe in living a Christ-centered life through discipleship. Following Jesus involves daily surrender, obedience to His teachings, and walking in His footsteps. Discipleship is key to spiritual growth and essential for recovery, as it draws us closer to God and builds a life rooted in faith (Luke 9:23; Matthew 28:18-20).
6. The Role of Community and the Church
We believe in the importance of fellowship with other believers for mutual encouragement, accountability, and growth. The body of Christ is a source of support, love, and healing as we walk together in recovery and faith (Hebrews 10:24-25; Romans 12:4-5).
7. Hope of Eternal Life
We believe in the promise of eternal life through Christ for all who believe. This hope gives us strength to endure challenges, knowing that our ultimate home is with God in His kingdom (John 14:2-3; Revelation 21:4; 1 Peter 1:3-4).
8. Recovery and Redemption Through God’s Grace
We believe that God’s grace is sufficient for every weakness, and His power is made perfect in our struggles. Recovery is an opportunity to experience His redeeming love, break the chains of addiction, and live a transformed life for His glory (2 Corinthians 12:9; Isaiah 61:1-3).
At Sacred Sobriety, we hold fast to these Biblical truths as we support and guide others on their journey of healing, faith, and freedom in Christ.
